IIM-Indore to empower women entrepreneurs & self help groups

Indore: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Madhya Pradesh Mahila Vitta Evam Vikas Nigam (MPMVVN). The objective of the MoU is to promote sustainable enterprises and empowering women entrepreneurs and women self-help groups (WSHGs) in the state. IIM-I and MPMVVN will develop joint projects and roll out initiatives to support growth of sustainable enterprises, women entrepreneurs and WSHGs.As part of the agreement, IIM-I and MPMVVN will collaborate to provide marketing support, design certification courses for women entrepreneurs, conduct training programmes for the employees of MPMVVN, conduct resource gap analysis and managerial training. IIM-I director professor Himanshu Rai said, “This MoU signifies our commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs and promoting sustainable enterprises. Through our expertise in management education and research, we aim to support MPMVVN in expanding its activities and enhancing entrepreneurial ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh”.The MoU will be valid for three years. MPMVVN managing director Manoj Pushp said, “IIM’s support in developing marketing strategies, certification courses, and training programmes will greatly benefit our women entrepreneurs and WSHGs. The assistance from IIM-I in the empanelment of experienced marketing agencies to provide marketing support to WSHGs for developing sustainable enterprises would also help them boost their market portfolio and sales volumes.”
