Hosps in Indore div await `195cr claim settlement

Indore: Empanelled hospitals under PMJAY-Ayushman Bharat scheme in eight districts of Indore division are awaiting Rs 195.22 crore claim settlement for treating patients under this flagship scheme. In the division, around 159 empanelled hospitals in those eight districts cumulatively have treatment count of 47.55 lakh for Rs 742.37 crore since start of scheme, showed records from regional director health services office. Of those, the hospitals got only Rs 547.15 crore till December 21, showed records. The figures were tabled before divisional commissioner Indore in a meeting held on Thursday afternoon. MP Ayushman CEO Aditi Garg said, “In Madhya Pradesh, SHA audits every claim raised with help of a dedicated team for transparency. So, claims approval in the state takes time and there is a due in payment. MP is processing around 4,000 claims under the scheme.”The backlog and delay in payment under the scheme in the state is not a new issue. In a RTI reply on December 1 last year, the National health authority showed that State health authority had dues of Rs 837.80 core remaining for payment to hospitals empanelled under the scheme.The district-wise bifurcation in division showed that the least payment of Rs 3.68 crore was made in Khandwa against Rs 69.42 crore approved claims. The other districts like Indore, Dhar, Barwani and Burhanpur have dues of about Rs 52 crore, Rs 18 crore, Rs 11 crore, and Rs 11 crore respectively, showed records. Ayushman Bharat is a flagship scheme of the Centre launched in September 2018 as recommended by the National Health Policy 2017 to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).It is an attempt to move from a sectoral and segmented approach of health service delivery to a comprehensive need-based health care service.

50 crore people now have Ayushman Bharat Health Account numbers: Govt

The Union health ministry announced that 50 crore people now have Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) numbers under the government's medical insurance scheme. The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has seen a positive response from patients, healthcare service providers, and policymakers. More than 1.5 crore patients have used the ABHA-based instant OPD registration service, and over 50 lakh people are managing their health records digitally through the ABHA app. Additionally, more than 33 crore health records have been linked to ABHA accounts, and the ABDM has verified and registered 2.6 lakh doctors and nurses as well as 2.26 lakh hospitals, clinics, labs, and pharmacies.

Governor Anandiben Patel highlighted the government's efforts to improve healthcare accessibility and emphasized the importance of public participation. She commended the progress made in issuing Ayushman Bharat cards and praised the launch of Viksit Bharat Yatra. Patel stressed the importance of preventive healthcare, good hygiene, and healthy dietary habits in preventing chronic diseases. She also talked about the crucial role of cleanliness in disease prevention and hopes for a healthier future with safe drinking water for all citizens.

Complete shutdown of Health services in state hospitals from December 29: Haryana doctors body

The Haryana Civil Medical Service (HCMS) association has threatened to shut down OPD services on December 27 if their demands regarding addressing the issues related to doctors in the state are not resolved by the state authorities. If no action is taken, they will resort to a complete shutdown of all services from December 29 onwards. The doctors across the state wore black badges and submitted a memorandum to the MLAs/ministers and deputy commissioners. The association has been struggling for a long time and requesting the government to implement their suggestions/demands to attract and retain doctors in government service. There is a great sense of resentment among all members over the government's insensitive attitude towards these important issues. A committee was constituted by the government to examine why doctors are leaving their job, but after six months, the committee has not submitted its report.
