Students need to be encouraged to proudly take up courses in Hindi: Min
Indore: The state higher education minister Inder Singh Parmar on Tuesday emphasised the importance of promoting Hindi in higher education at Shri GS Institute of Science and Technology.Parmar was at SGSITS as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) under its CSR initiative signed an agreement with SGSITS Incubation Forum. Over the next three years, the institute will receive Rs 1 crore worth of advanced equipment, enhancing opportunities for students and startups linked to its incubation centre. In his address, Parmar stressed the need to integrate modern technological advancements with India's rich cultural and scientific heritage. He said that the National Education Policy is focused on incorporating ancient knowledge into the curriculum, encouraging research on India's historical scientific texts. When questioned about the lack of interest in Hindi engineering and medical courses running in Madhya Pradesh, Parmar said, "We want to create a belief among people that language is not a barrier to education. Students of medical and engineering courses can now study in Hindi as well. Students need to be encouraged to proudly take up courses in Hindi. These efforts would bring significant changes over time."He added that the govt has introduced Hindi-medium courses in medical and engineering fields to make education more accessible to a wider group of students.HAL, a govt enterprise responsible for manufacturing Indian Air Force aircraft, said during its vendor meet that 40% of the components used in its aircraft are still imported, including critical electronic equipment. To address this dependency, HAL is actively seeking domestic alternatives and encouraging local industries to collaborate as vendors.HAL officials, including MiG Complex CEO Saket Chaturvedi, engaged with industrialists from Indore and nearby areas, urging them to contribute to the localisation effort. They emphasised the importance of not only substituting imported components but also expanding the vendor base for the remaining 60% of domestically sourced parts.Chaturvedi said, "There is a knowledge gap among industrialists regarding the aeronautics sector. There is immense potential for diverse companies to partner with HAL, ranging from civil and mechanical engineering to electronics." The vendor meet saw over 50 industries registering for HAL's vendor programme. A dedicated session informed participants about HAL's tendering processes and the Govt e-Marketplace (GeM) portal, highlighting the ease of participating in govt procurement.Parmar condemns attacks on Hindus in BangladeshThe higher education minister Inder Singh Parmar, during a press conference, condemned the recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Talking about the issue, he said, "Religious leaders and saints are disturbed by such events, which threaten the rich legacy of Indian civilisation in the neighbouring country. Anger is evident across Madhya Pradesh and other parts of India."He said, "The outrage is justified because Bangladesh, which our army helped liberate, is now witnessing atrocities against Hindus and followers of Sanatan Dharma."The increasing violence and attacks have created widespread resentment toward the Bangladesh govt, the minister said.
