Heavy rain batters districts of 2 divs

Indore: Relentless rainfall was witnessed in districts of Alirajpur, Dhar, Ratlam, Khandwa, Khargone, Ujjain and Mandsaur over the past 48 hours throwing life out of gear in most of the places.Katthiwada tehsil of Alirajpur recorded all time highest rainfall in 24 hours at 341mm from Saturday till Sunday morning. In Jhabua, Meghnagar recorded 316 mm rainfall in the same duration while Dhar city saw 301.3mm rain in last 24 hours. The rain also pounded Alirajpur and its surrounding areas from Friday night until Sunday morning with the district recording 298.4 mm of rainfall.The heavy downpour has significantly disrupted normal life, prompting district administration to increase the vigil especially in the areas near the water bodies.The heavy rainfall has also disrupted normal life in Dhar, with the city witnessing 431.8 mm rain in the two days. Rural areas too have been hit hard with low-lying areas getting inundated. More than 10 families residing in slums in Kheda village were relocated, and over 40 families near the river bridge in Ghata Billod were shifted to relief camps.In Mandsaur, 107 mm of precipitation was recorded by 8am on Sunday. The downpour, which began on Friday evening, has caused rivers to swell, resulting in flood-like conditions in the region. Bhagor village, where 50 houses stand on the banks of the Chambal river had to be evacuated. Over the last 24 hours, the maximum rainfall was recorded in Bhavgarh at 101.6 mm, Dhundka at 76.2 mm, and Mandsaur city at 76.2 mm. tnn

Heavy rainfall warning in some districts of Vid

The meteorological department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in some districts of Vidarbha between September 13-16. While Nagpur is only expected to experience thunderstorms and lightning, other districts such as Gondia, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Washim, and Buldhana are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has advised citizens to take precautions and seek shelter during thunderstorms, avoiding water bodies and not lying flat on the ground. The monsoon is expected to withdraw from Vidarbha by the end of September.

Met: Parts of state to record rainfall today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall in the north-western parts of Bihar, while the rest of the state will continue to experience hot and humid conditions. Patna may also receive some rain on Tuesday, with rainfall expected in the south-eastern parts of the state from Wednesday. Parts of Bihar recorded high temperatures on Sunday, and the state currently has a rainfall deficiency of 27% for this monsoon season.

Delhi-NCR witnesses sudden change in weather, receives heavy rainfall

Delhi-NCR experienced moderate to heavy rain on Friday morning, causing a sudden change in weather. Noida also faced a squall followed by heavy rain. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had previously forecasted rain in Delhi for Friday and Saturday, with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers on Sunday. There is also a chance of very light rain or drizzling from Monday to Wednesday.
