Hospital superintendent Dr PS Thakur Dr Thakur allegedly misbehaved with a staff nurse Suryakiran Sharma and allegedly threatened to slap her for not informing about the running tap in ward number 17.
Even though the nurse said that it was not her duty to inform about the same, Dr Thakur threatened to suspend her. Later, the dean Dr Pushpa Verma summoned Dr Thakur at her office, where he reportedly apologized to the staffer.
However, Dr Thakur speaking to the media said, “As an administrative officer, sometimes I have to act tough with the staff. I did not mean to slap the woman.”
Dean Dr Pushpa Verma said, “Misbehavior with woman staff at work place is intolerable. Instructions have been issued in this regard. I hope such incidents will not repeat in future.”
