HC Mandsaur petitions clubbed

Indore: Final arguments in all the petitions regarding Mandsaur incident and the farmers’ protest in June will be made together, the Indore bench of high court ruled on Thursday.

The petition filed by Akashdeep Shukla was being heard by a division bench of Justice PK Jaiswal and Justice Virendra Singh on Thursday when the court directed the matter to be listed along with the petition filed by Ayush Pandey that was also clubbed with the petition filed by Anand Mohan Mathur.

The petitions have raised various issues regarding the farmers’ protest which continued between June 1 and June 12, 2017. The next hearing will be held on November 9.

While Anand Mohan Mathur’s petition has sought explanation on why the firing was done by the police on the upper body of the victims instead of the legs, Ayush Pandey’s petition has sought an independent inquiry of the incident and compensation for all the persons whose vehicles and property had been destroyed in the agitation.

In another petition filed by Kamlesh Patidar through advocate Ajay Bagadia, FIR has been sought to be registered against the persons who were responsible for the firing incident at Pipliyamandi in Mandsaur. Petition by Awdhesh Bhargav through advocate Anil Ojha has accused the government officials of ordering the firing on the farmers protesting in Mandsaur.
