Indore: A habitual offender in possession of 22 grams of MD drugs, valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh, was arrested near MS Coral Valley on Dhar Road during a routine surveillance operation.
In its ongoing effort to curb drug menace, the Crime Branch gathered intelligence and conducted covert operations. During one such operation, the team noticed a suspicious individual who appeared nervous upon seeing the police. He was intercepted and identified as Mustaq Khan, 45, a resident of Machal village on Dhar Road in Indore.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Khan is a repeated offender with multiple cases registered against him under charges related to theft, excise violations and the Arms Act. Khan admitted during interrogation that he is addicted to drugs and intended to procure MD drugs at low prices and distribute them within the city.
A case was registered against him under section 8/22 of the NDPS Act, and further legal proceedings are underway.
