INDORE: A 40-year-old man from Gujarat has been arrested for engaging a 12-year-old daughter into a prostitution racket in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh for Rs 3.25 lakh.
The girl has been rescued on Sunday evening by a team of Ratlam district police, led by Ringnod police station in charge M S Parmar and sub inspector Jyoti Dikshit, from a house at Hanumantiya Bachra Dera in Ringnod where she was locked to be used in prostitution business.
The man of Bachara tribe, Madan Lal and his 18-year-old son Rohit have been arrested.
According to superintendent of police (Ratlam) G K Pathak, the father-son duo brought the minor from her father for Rs 3.25 lakh a fortnight ago from her native village Devchaukri located in Balasinor area of Gujarat's Mahisagar district. The duo also revealed that she was brought to be engaged in their family-run prostitution business, the SP-Ratlam said.
The duo has been booked for abduction and human trafficking under Sections 363, 366A, 372, 370(4) and 34 of IPC, besides Section 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012. "A team is being sent to Gujarat to track and bring the girl's father for further investigation in the case," Pathak said.
The SP Ratlam added that the girl will be sent to either Mandsaur or Indore for proper rehabilitation and education.
