INDORE: Nearly a fortnight after Prof DP Singh resigned from vice chancellor’s post of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), governor house and chancellor of state universities invited applications to fill the vacancy.
The vacancy has been advertised to search suitable candidates for the coveted post in one of the reputed state universities. With applications being invited, several probable candidates from city have started working to put across their names.
To propose names of probable candidates for the post, a search panel will be constituted and put up before the Governor for his final nod. As per the rules, governor and chancellor of state universities Ram Naresh Yadav will announce the name of the new VC. Governor can reject the recommended names altogether if he finds none of them fit for the coveted post. In that case, search panel will have to come up with fresh recommendations.
After prof DP Singh put in his papers, prof Ashutosh Mishra was given the charge. Days after resignation of Singh, Raj Bhawan initiated the process to invite application. VC search panel will have one representative each from university’s Executive Council, University Grants Commission and Raj Bhawan.
