Gold worth `18L seized, 3 arrested

Indore: Three persons were arrested for committing theft at the house of a courier businessman on Thursday.
Police also recovered 250-gram gold worth Rs 18 lakh from the accused. The jeweller who bought the stolen jewellery from the accused was also arrested.
Additional DCP Abhinay Vishwakarma said on December 14, unidentified men broke into a locked house owned by a courier company owner and made away with cash and jewellery worth lakhs, following which a case was registered.
Police examined CCTV footage of over 50 cameras and around 100 suspects were interrogated. Cops received a tip-off, following which the accused Umrao Lohar (53), Deepak Soni (24) and Saddam Khan (30), all residents of Rajasthan were arrested. The gang leader, Umrao Lohar has more than 18 cases registered against him in Rajasthan, New Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, and MP. The accused were taken on remand. During interrogation, they accepted committing the crime. tnn
