German Consul General bats for stronger Indo-German partnership in MP
Indore: German Consul General Christoph Hallier has said that Indore-Pithampur belt offered significant opportunities for industrial and technological collaboration, underscoring the strengthening economic ties between India and Germany.
After holding meetings with govt representatives, industry leaders and academia in Bhopal on Wednesday, Hallier visited manufacturing and IT facilities in Pithampur and Indore to assess the region’s industrial capabilities. The visit comes as India and Germany mark 75 years of diplomatic relations and seek to expand cooperation in trade, investment, technology and innovation.
“India is Germany’s second most important business partner and trade and investment relations between the two countries are continuously strengthening. The Indore-Pithampur region has immense potential from the perspective of industrial and technological cooperation,” Hallier said.
Accompanied by MPIDC Indore executive director Himanshu Prajapati, Hallier was briefed on investment opportunities, industrial infrastructure and the expanding logistics and IT ecosystem in Indore-Pithampur region.
As part of the visit, Hallier also explored Indore’s heritage landmarks, Rajwada Palace and Lal Bagh Palace, and lauded the city’s rich cultural legacy and tourism potential on Thursday.
Earlier in Bhopal, discussions centred on strengthening business linkages, facilitating investments and identifying new avenues of cooperation. Hallier also interacted with members of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and Max Planck Society alumni networks, underlining the role of academic and scientific exchanges in strengthening bilateral ties.
“Madhya Pradesh offers significant potential for deeper Indo-German cooperation. We are encouraged by the state’s economic development, industrial ambitions and openness to international partnerships,” Hallier said, adding that Germany looked forward to expanding its engagement with the state in the years ahead.
