Fresh spell of rain in Indore and neighbouring districts

Indore: Indore and neighbouring districts on Saturday received moderate to heavy rainfall bringing smiles on farmers’ faces as the fresh spell of rain is expected to give new lease of life to soyabean and other crops besides filling up the water bodies.Saturday’s rainfall in Indore that continued late in the evening, took the total rainfall in city in the last 24 hours to over 87 mm. With this, the city recorded over 137.8 mm rainfall in the last three days. The Met department has forecast rainfall to continue in the city for next few days that would further increase the water table.The city recorded maximum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius (3 degree below normal), while minimum temperature was 22.4 degrees Celsius (one degree above normal). The humidity level was 97 percent in the morning which increased to 98 percent in the evening.According to Met department, a fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to form over northwest and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal around September 12 and it will bring more rain to the eastern part of the state while intensity will decrease in western part.
