Former CEO of Pati Janpad Panchayat booked on bribe charges
Barwani: Lokayukta police on Friday registered a case against former chief executive officer of Pati Janpad Panchayat in Barwani district for demanding bribe of Rs 20 lakh.Lokayukta, Indore, SP Rajesh Sahay said that a case was registered against Nilesh Nag, the then chief executive officer of Pati Janpad Panchayat, on the complaints of secretaries of two gram panchayats."Moti Kharte, secretary of gram panchayat Kandra and Kailash Solanki, secretary of gram panchayat Limbi of Janpad Panchayat Pati, complained that Nilesh Nag had demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakh each from them for not inquiring into the construction work done in their panchayats," he said.Both the applicants recorded their conversation with Nilesh on their mobile phones and submitted it with their complaints. On inquiry, the demand for a bribe was found to be correct, the SP said.He said that a case was registered against Nilesh under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act Amendment 2018, and the matter was being investigated.
