INDORE: Chattripura police on Wednesday arrested five members of
Shakir Chacha
gang for threatening the main witness in
Jitendra Yadav
alias
Jitu Baba
murder case.
"The accused, including Pramod Dubey, Zafar, Aslam Nagdawala, Imran, Majju, Guddu and Rajendra Mhowwala, had barged into Yadav's house and asked his wife Manjula Soni and an eye-witness in the murder case to take back her statement," said Manju Yadav, Chattripura police station in-charge adding that five of the seven accused have been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the IPC. "Two accused including Dubey and Mhowwala are still absconding. They will be arrested at the earliest," said Yadav. Key accused in police constable-turned-Congress leader Santosh Dubey's murder in 2009 -Jitu Baba was shot dead at point-blank range in full public view in Sudama Nagar on August 24.
The incident was seen as a kind of gang war between Jitendra's group and those having allegiance to the slain
Congress leader Santosh Dubey and notorious criminal Shakir Chacha.
