INDORE: Indore district administration on Tuesday lodged FIRs against four firms for allegedly storing and selling LPG cylinders and manufacturing bakery products in unhygienic conditions and without obtaining food licence.
A joint team of tehsildar and Tejaji Nagar police on Tuesday carried out an inspection at Ujjain Bakery in Nayata Mundla. The team found that food items were manufactured in unhygienic conditions, while the proprietor
Sajid Hussain had not obtained food licence.
He was allegedly selling misrepresented toasts that comes under ‘food fraud’, ADM Abhay Bedekar said.
“An FIR under section 269 and 420 of IPC has been lodged against Sajid at Tejaji Nagar police station,” he said, adding that for the same reasons, a separate FIR under same sections have been lodged against owner
Abdul Karim and in-charge Sajauddin Teli of M/S Choice Bakery. The joint team of officials of the food department and crime branch had also carried out inspection at two places and recovered a total 30 filled/empty domestic and commercial LPG cylinders from one Dilip Sukhyani’s shop at 56 Alkapuri and from one Balkishan Verma’s shop in Musakhedi area.
The accused allegedly revealed to sell the filled LPG cylinders by taking a profit of Rs 30 without having required licences and permissions for it, the ADM said.
Apart from seizing gas cylinders, a separate FIR has been lodged against both under section 3 and 7 of Essential Commodity Act, 1955, he added.
