Indore: Unidentified bike borne men made away with a bag filled with Rs 1.43 lakh cash from a finance company agent in Amjhera town of Dhar.
Amjhera police station in-charge CB Singh said the accused were following the agent from Kelikhurd area and attacked him in a secluded lane. They first tried to stop him by overtaking his vehicle and when he did not stop, they pushed him and snatched his bag before fleeing the spot.
The complainant told police that a lot of cash which he had collected along with important company documents and mobile phone was kept in the bag which was stolen.
The man reached Baledi village and lodged a complaint with senior officers who then took him to Amjhera police station where a case was registered against unidentified assailants. Police formed a team to investigate the crime and were trying to sift through CCTV footage of the nearby areas to ascertain the identity of the accused.
A finance firm in Rajgarh in Dhar district had been providing loans to villagers in the nearby areas. The collection agent, Rishiraj Singh, had gone to Baledi village to collect cash from women along with firm manager Vikram Singh. He dropped the manager in village and collected cash from 58 persons. When he was on his way back to the village to pick his manager, he was looted.
Rishiraj told police that he had seen some people follow him. The accused made away with Rs 1.43 lakh cash, he claimed. Inspector Singh said that investigations in the case were underway.
