UJJAIN: A farmer, reportedly perturbed over crop losses, ended his life at village Barkheri Mann on Tuesday evening.
The deceased Anil son of Badrilal Kumawat (35) hanged himself at his house. Family members brought him at the district hospital here where he was declared dead. A post mortem was performed on Wednesday.
Anil's uncle Gyaneshwar, who is deputy sarpanch, said he was upset over the loss in Soybean crop in the wake of heavy rains this season.

He had suffered losses last year too. Anil has a daughter of 45 years and a son of just 2 months.
Local farmers said the government has granted just Rs 500 per bigha as compensation which is not enough to settle investment of seeds and fertilizers and also meet the livelihood. Proper crop yields Rs 8-10 thousand per bigha, they said.
Meanwhile, Vijayganj Mandi police have registered an inquest and are investigating.
