INDORE: Two persons, including a woman, were arrested for allegedly running a fake call centre racket and duping people of several lakhs, police said on Wednesday.
The accused, Lokesh alias Anand Jodwal, a resident of Bapu Gandhi Nagar and Puja Sharma alias Neha Rathore, a resident of Panchmurti Nagar were caught during a raid by a team of crime branch and Juni Indore police at a firm’s office, said police.
“Five of their employees have also been taken into custody and are being questioned,” they said.
The police had recently received a complaint from a man of Assam that the duo had duped him of Rs50,000.
During the raid, the team also seized laptops, mobile phones, SIM cards, 18 ATM cards and records of financial transactions up to several lakhs of rupee.
Additional commissioner of police (crime) Rajesh Hingankar said that the accused were running a fake call centre in Tower Square area. They would make phone calls to prospective investors outside the state for promising them to get daily returns of up to Rs 6000. “Lokesh and

A case under sections 420, 406, 468, 471, and 34 of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
