INDORE: Day after TV journalist Akshay Singh’s death at Megh Nagar in tribal Jhabua district, former Union minister Kantilal Bhuria demanded a CBI inquiry into his death.
Talking to reporters in Jhabua district, 150km from divisional headquarter Indore, Bhuria on Sunday claimed Akshay Singh became victim of a well-planned conspiracy and it should be probed by CBI.
“It is a meticulously planned murder. Singh became part of conspiracy to mislead MPPEB scam probe.”
CBI should investigate details of Singh’s tour of Madhya Pradesh, who was covering mysterious deaths in Vyapam scam.
While Singh’s body was sent to Delhi for last rites on Sunday, Jhabua district is likely to remain a political ground. On Monday, Union home minister Rajnath Singh, state chief minister Shivraj Singh and Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh are likely to address the media here.
The high political drama over Singh’s death has also caught attention of national and international media that have swooped down on Jhabua to cover MPPEB scam and its related mysteries.
In Indore, Aam Aadmi Party activists reiterated the demand for a CBI inquiry into 44 suspected deaths of accused. Activists condoled Akshay Singh’s death at Zanjeerwala crossing and said all deaths cannot be mere a coincidence.
