Indore: An elderly man was duped of Rs8 lakh by two persons from Indore on pretext of doubling his money, the police said on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as Chandrapal Singh (60), a native of Uttar Pradesh, in a complaint to Tejaji Nagar police alleged that Asunjay Kelwa and Pinky Kelwa contacted him in 2018 and offered to double his money, but cheated him of Rs8 lakh.

Tukoganj police officials said that during investigation it was found that the accused lured the complainant with claims of doubling his money through investment within a short period of time, and convinced him to invest his money. Falling into their trap, the complainant gave them Rs8 lakh.
“The payments were made in different transactions online in the year 2018,” said officials. tnn
