Indore: Lasudia police registered a case against a man for leaving behind his licenced weapon in the car which was used by his drunk brother-in-law, who accidentally pressed the trigger and fired at his own leg at Bypass early morning on Friday.
Lasudia police station in-charge Santosh Dudhi said that the incident was reported at 2:00 am on Indore-Mumbai Bypass when Dev Thakkar, resident of Dhenu Market was returning from Shivpuri with his brother in law Prince Sehgal.

He left the car to relieve himself by the roadside when Prince picked up the vehicle and pressed the trigger accidentally. A shot was fired from the weapon and hit him on the leg.
While speaking to police Dev Thakkar said that he had gone to Shivpuri to bring his brother in law to Indore for a birthday party and they had consumed alcohol in the car. Prince was in an inebriated condition when the accident took place.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was admitted for treatment.
Dudhi said that the matter looked suspicious and they were in the process of recording statements of both the men. A case was, however, registered against Dev for leaving behind a weapon unattended.
