Indore: A drug trafficker was arrested, and a large quantity of contraband was seized from him in Mandsaur village during an operation by Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) and local police
Police had received information that a man had stockpiled opium and poppy straw at two separate locations and was preparing to move the consignment to a contact in Punjab. A team from CBN's Madhya Pradesh unit sought logistical support from Mandsaur police to execute simultaneous raids
Searches were carried out on two premises — one in Kherkheda village and another in Gangakhedi, both under Sitamau tehsil. Officers recovered 35.42 kg of opium and 50.33 kg of poppy straw during the raid. The seized narcotics was taken into custody under provisions of the NDPS Act after completing legal formalities.
Investigators said that the dual-location storage pointed to a structured supply chain, with the accused allegedly preparing for interstate transport. One person has been arrested so far, while efforts are on to trace forward and backward linkages in the network.
