Driver injured, after two cars collide at Rasoma square
Indore: A collision between two cars at Rasoma square on Indore’s BRTS corridor late Friday night left one driver seriously injured. The impact was so severe that one of the vehicles overturned twice before coming to a halt.
The injured driver, Dev Chauhan, suffered a shoulder fracture and was rushed to a hospital with the help of bystanders.
Vijay Nagar police station in-charge Chandrakant Patel said, the crash occurred around 3 am when two cars approaching the intersection from different directions collided.
One of the vehicles was reportedly coming from the Medanta Hospital side, while the other was approaching from the LIG area. The loud crash drew residents and shopkeepers out of their homes and establishments.
Police said a complaint was lodged by Abhishek Jaiswal. Eyewitnesses stated that both the vehicles were registered in Ujjain. They also alleged that a group of young women travelling in one of the cars left the scene before police arrived. Three liquor bottles were reportedly found inside the vehicle. However, police said the occupants later informed them that they were on their way for a religious visit.
The damaged vehicles were removed from the road and police have begun examining CCTV footage from the area to determine the circumstances leading to the crash.
