INDORE: A day after the arrest of a youth in Rajasthan with 250 live cartridges he was to hand over to a person in Dhar district, the police on Friday swung into action to arrest another accused, who was waiting for the cache here.
Dhar SP Sushant Kumar Saxena said local GRP police arrested the man, who was carrying 250 live cartridges from Gangapur city railway station.
He was boarding the Amritsar-Mumbai train.
Later, the police intimated us and we are close to nab another accused. However, he refused to give the name of the accused saying it could hamper further process and the arrest of another accused.
The arrested youth was carrying 250 live cartridges in a belt tied around his chest and arrested from Gangapur railway station in Sawai Madhopur district on Wednesday afternoon.
Police also believe the arrested youth, Rajesh alias Mangilal, resident of Gandwani village in Dhar district, was coming to hand over the cartridges to Maoists active in the state. The SP said he could give other details only after the arrest of the person who was waiting here for the cartridges.
After the arrest at Gangapur railway station, the youth during interrogation reportedly told the police that he received cartridges from one person in Gangapur and was supposed to hand over the cartridges to another person in Dhar district. The local police immediately contacted the Dhar police.
