Indore: Indore police have arrested a dhaba operator allegedly for an illegal liquor trade from his establishment in Kanadia area and seized country-made alcohol worth around Rs 30,000 during the action.
Kanadia police station in-charge Saharsh Yadav said acting on a tip-off received on April 20, a police team reached Maa Kamakhya Devi dhaba in Begam Khedi village, where the operator, Ankit Kelwa, was found in possession of illicit liquor stocked for sale.
During the raid, police recovered one box of country-made liquor, four boxes of plain country liquor, along with a bag containing 30 quarters each of masala and plain variants. In total, about 55 litres of illegal liquor was seized from the accused.
An FIR has been registered against Kelwa under the Excise Act and further investigation was underway. Police were also questioning the accused to trace the supply chain and identify others involved in the racket.
