A locker held by Dr Sagar at the SBI's Vijay Nagar branch in Indore has been detected by the police, which will be opened and searched by the Indore police crime branch on Thursday.
Ongoing investigations into the case and the interrogation of Dr Ajay Kumar Singh (who claims to be undergoing Bachelor of Dental Surgery-BDS internship at a college in Kanpur) has revealed that he was sourcing the scorers (proxy candidates) for Dr Sagar's racket, particularly from different private coaching classes of Kanpur (UP), Additional SP (Crime) Dilip Soni said on Wednesday.

Dr Ajay, a native of Ramnagar-Bharsada village under Jafrabad police station of Jaunpur district (the same place from where jailed notorious UP gangster Prem Prakash alias Munna Bajrangi hails) arranged proxy candidates from private coaching institutes in Kanpur to appear on behalf of the racket's prospective beneficiary candidates in the MPPMT.
Every year, Dr Ajay developed a database of meritorious, but economically vulnerable students of coaching institutes of Kanpur, preparing for medical entrance exams in MP.
Sorting out from database, proxy candidates, who could match prospective beneficiaries in appearance and also caste and community, after which these proxy candidates (scorers) were motivated by him to appear for other candidates in the MPPMT and get a sum of Rs one lakh in return.
Dr Ajay secured Rs 75,000 per proxy candidate, while the actual proxy candidate was paid Rs 1 lakh and the kingpin of the racket secured Rs 20 lakh from each of the prospective beneficiary candidate's families.
The kingpin only selected prospective beneficiaries from different districts of MP, after properly checking their wealth status and credit worthiness from his agents posted in different districts.
Meanwhile, Indore crime branch team has been sent to Kanpur to work on the case based on inputs secured during Dr Ajay's questioning. A team, which went with Dr Sagar to search his Trimurti Nagar house in Gwalior district of MP returned to Indore on Wednesday.
