Indore: Police have identified a suspect in case of death of a petrol pump employee in Sanwer and launched a manhunt to arrest him.
Investigators said that the suspect is a resident of Gauri Nagar area of Heera Nagar.
DSP Umakanat Choudhary said that based on CCTV footage, they located registered owner of the vehicle involved in the incident but found that he had sold the vehicle to the suspect a year ago. The suspect was identified as Aryan, son of Punendra Tanwar, a resident of Gauri Nagar. While Aryan is absconding with the car involved in the incident, his father was detained for questioning.
The incident occurred around 4 am on March 11 at Shivlal Patel and Sons petrol pump near Charpai Dhaba in village Kajlana.
A driver of a grey car allegedly fled from the spot after getting diesel filled in the vehicle but not paying for it.
The petrol pump staffer, Rohit Parmar, attempted to stop the vehicle as it tried to leave. During the attempt, his hand got stuck in the car window. Police said that the driver accelerated the vehicle despite this, dragging Rohit for some distance before he fell. He later died due to the injuries sustained in the incident.
During the investigation, police analysed CCTV footage from multiple points and traced the car moving towards Hiranagar via MR-10.
Officials said that the accused stepped out with friends on the day of the incident and fled after the episode. On Thursday morning, he reportedly came to know through media reports that police were searching for him, following which he left home with the car and went into hiding.
