Daughter's death provoked Indore doctor to kill family, self

INDORE: The death of his six-month-old daughter Suhi is what annoyed and prompted radiologist, Dr Rohit Dwivedi, to kill his wife and in-laws at his Bakhatgarh Tower flat in Palasia on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Rohit hanged himself from the ceiling fan in the morning.
Police officials investigating the sensational murders suspect that Suhi choked to death possibly due to negligence by her mother, Dr Priyanka.This enraged Rohit who is believed to have used a surgical axe-cum-hammer to unleash 18 deep wounds to kill his gynecologist wife and in-laws Prem Chand Pandey and Savitri Pandey. Sources in the medical team which conducted the post mortem on the five bodies recovered from the flat said that bodies of Dr Priyanka Dwivedi and her parents PC Pandey and Savitri Pandey bore 18 killer wounds which were eight to 12 cm deep.
Also, the contents of 13-page suicide note purportedly written by Dr Rohit before reportedly hanging himself in the kitchen, have pointed towards the strong possibility of Dr Priyanka first strangulating the couple's six-month-old baby girl, which ultimately provoked Dr Rohit to brutally murder his wife and her parents, who had arrived from their native Patna the very same day.
"The suicide note mentions that Rohit murdered his wife and in-laws, after his daughter Suhi was killed by Priyanka. This prima facie suggests a strong possibility of the baby girl having been strangulated by Dr Priyanka, but it could be confirmed only after detailed investigations," SP (Indore East) OP Tripathi said.
It is, however, is still not clear, what was the issue of prolonged and heightened tension between the medico couple. Investigators, however have not ruled out professional ego as the reason.
Also, as per contents of the suicide note it has become clear that before the bloodbath Rohit had a major argument with wife and in-laws, who used abusive language against him. Meanwhile, the Indore police are waiting for the postmortem report. Relatives of both Rohit and Priyanka, meanwhile, remained tight-lipped at the MY Hospital before the mediapersons on Monday. While, Priyanka's brother Piyush Pandey merely said there was not any major problem between the couple, Rohit's father Dr GP Dwivedi (professor at a private medical college in Bhopal) also remained tight-lipped over the episode.
While, the bodies of Priyanka and her parents will be taken for cremation to Patna on Tuesday, Rohit will be cremated in Bhopal.
