Indore: Admissions at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya are likely to run behind schedule this year, with the Common University Entrance Test PG 2026 results now expected only in May, delaying the entire admission cycle and academic calendar.
University officials said the CUET PG results, for exams held in March, are likely by early to mid-May. Following this, the university will take at least 20 days to prepare and release merit rankings.
Counselling registration will begin only after this process, pushing PG counselling into June. Officials also pointed out that even after the results are declared, it takes nearly 15 days to receive complete candidate data, after which a meeting is convened to finalise counselling schedules and modalities.
For undergraduate admissions, CUET UG 2026 examinations are scheduled from May 11 to May 31 at multiple centres, including Indore. The results are expected in July. The university will then require close to a month to release merit lists and open the counselling registration window. With this timeline, the new academic session is expected to commence only after August 15, indicating a delay of around one and a half months.
Admissions to key departments such as IIPS, IMS, School of Law and School of Commerce, along with several integrated programmes, will be conducted through CUET. School of Commerce head Suresh Patidar said that most high-demand courses fall under this admission process.
Yamini Karmarkar from IIPS advised students to register for counselling regardless of their rank, noting that multiple rounds often help candidates secure seats in preferred courses. Officials added that a large number of outstation candidates have applied this year, reflecting the university's growing national appeal.
