Crime branch arrests inter-state MD drug supplier from house in Rajasthan

Indore: An inter-state MD (mephedrone)drug supplier hiding in Rajasthan's Pratapgarh was dragged out of his house by Indore crime branch personnel — two holding his hands and two his legs —and taken to a waiting police vehicle, with his family members and locals following the team and trying to stop them, on Monday. He was brought to Indore on Tuesday.The extraction followed a planned operation in Pratapgarh, where the drug supplier Wasim Khan had been hiding since the arrest of other members of the same drug network.Police had arrested four persons— Rizwan Khokar, Faizan Mansoori, Sameer Lakara and Kajal Upadhyay and seized 24.08 grams of MD drug, valued at around Rs 2.40 lakh from them on Sunday. During interrogation, Wasim Khan emerged as a key link who allegedly procured the contraband from other states and supplied it to peddlers in Indore.Acting on specific inputs, the crime branch tracked him to his native area on Monday. He attempted to flee during the raid and sustained an injury on his hand. As officers took him into custody, his family members and locals tried to obstruct the team, but police held their ground and forced their way out, carrying him to the vehicle. A video of the operation also surfaced on social media.Additional DCP crime branch Rajesh Dandotiya said that Khan worked as a daily wage labourer but has a long criminal history with around two dozen cases registered against him in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. He also has two previous cases under the NDPS Act in Indore.A case has been registered under Sections 8 and 22 of the NDPS Act at the crime branch police station.
