UJJAIN: The City Congress Committee and Youth Congress members opposed the move to privatize Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board (MPEB) on Maxi Road here on Tuesday. The party workers locked the gate of the MPEB office in protest not allowing the employees to reach the office.
Congress leader
Vivek Yadav said privatization would be a serious problem. "The cost of electricity would go up," he said adding that the Congress Party would be handing over a memorandum in this regard to the state government.
The agitated Congress workers raised slogans against the government and MPEB while complaints of pelting stones at the MPEB too were received.
