‘CM hasn’t kept promise to blast victims’ kin’

INDORE: Taking a dig at chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Congress MP from Ratlam constituency

Kantilal Bhuria

said that Chouhan’s promises for the welfare of family members of victims of Petlawad blast were still unfulfilled even a year after the tragedy.

“At the time of the tragedy and during electioneering, Chouhan and his ministers made several promises. But these promises remain unfulfilled. Victims’ family members are upset,” Bhuria told reporters in Petlawad.

He added that neither Chouhan nor any other minister reached Petlawad to offer tributes to the victims. “Where are the people who distributed sarees and organised mass feasts to woo voters in the town? Why aren’t any of them present to pay tribute to the departed souls?” He quipped.

Supporting locals’ sentiments to construct ‘Shrandanjali Chowk’ near the blast site, Bhuria said ‘Ahinsa circle’ is now a memorial and should be developed into ‘Shrandanjali Chowk’ here itself.

Countering Bhuria’s acerbic comments, the local BJP president said that his comments were politically inspired. “State government has provided all assistance to family members of victims of the blast. Pending issues will be discussed with the government and administration. Did Bhuria gave a single penny to the victims’ family members under MPLAD?” Jhabua district BJP president

Daulat Bhavsar
