Civic body survey for widening of 2km stretch

Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on Wednesday decided to carry out a survey of a road that links Aerodrome police station to MR 5 via Chhota Bangadada for identification of hurdles in increasing its width.
According to senior IMC officials, around 2km long road connecting Aerodrome police station to MR 5 via Chhota Bangadada is presently 40-60 feet wide in different sections, while in the master plan, it is proposed to be widened to 100 feet.
Following dense population on both sides of the road, there is a huge burden of traffic on it that frequently leads to congestion, while the situation just gets worse during Navratri due to thousands of devotees travelling to Maa Bijasan Mandir and VIP movement to the airport.
On Wednesday morning, mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, IMC commissioner Harshika Singh along with local public representatives took stock of the road and instructed the officials concerned for a survey of hurdles in widening of the stretch. They asked the officials concerned for laying a layer of gravelly soil at the damaged patches to facilitate the commuters till then.
