Child abandoned at birth in Jhabua to start new life in US after adoption
Indore: A child born with birth defects including a cleft palate and cleft lip, who was abandoned by his biological parents at a govt hospital in Jhabua district's Petlawad, is set to begin a new life in the US. A couple from the United States decided to adopt the child, offering him a loving family and a bright future.The infant was initially provided shelter at Sanjeevani Seva Sangam in Indore, following the orders of Child Welfare Committee, Jhabua district. Prioritising the child's health, the organisation contacted CHL Hospital, Indore. The medical team successfully performed surgery to correct the infant's cleft palate and cleft lip, enabling him to live a normal life.Rahul Koli, a social worker at Sanjeevani Seva Sangam, said that despite extensive efforts, the biological parents could not be traced. Subsequently, the infant was declared legally free for adoption, and his details were uploaded onto the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) portal.Asha Singh, the superintendent of the organisation, revealed that an American couple expressed their desire to adopt the child through the CARA portal. The Authorised Foreign Adoption Agency assisted them in preparing the necessary documents. After receiving approval (NOC) from CARA, Indore woman and child development project officer Ram Niwas Budholia submitted the relevant documents to ADM Roshan Rai.Rai, after verifying the documents, issued the inter-country adoption order for the infant. Following this, the organisation obtained the child's birth certificate and passport. The infant is now ready to travel to America with his new parents."The child will be handed over to the couple on Wednesday," Budholia said.
