Checking irregularities: Over 25 nursing colleges to come under DAVV from 2026-27 session

Indore: From the upcoming academic session 2026-27, more than 25 nursing colleges across Indore, Dhar and Jhabua will come under the ambit of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, bringing renewed hope for thousands of students, who faced years of academic uncertainty.For many nursing students, delayed examinations, late results and concerns over infrastructure and teaching standards disrupted academic plans. With the shift in affiliation, students expect a more structured academic calendar and closer monitoring of institutions.DAVV issued a formal notification detailing a five-tier fee structure for colleges seeking affiliation for the 2026-27 session. The decision followed govt directives and an academic council meeting. Both govt and private institutions are required to complete the affiliation process."As the department of higher education and the Madhya Pradesh Nursing Registration Council formally placed nursing colleges under the respective state universities, over 25 colleges from Indore, Dhar and Jhabua received clearance to proceed with affiliation. These colleges will come under DAVV from the upcoming session," said DAVV college development council dean Sachin Sharma.Colleges were asked to submit course details and apply for affiliation. A three-member inspection team, comprising nursing college principals or retired faculty along with DAVV representatives, will assess infrastructure and academic facilities before granting approval.Courses likely to be impacted include BSc nursing, MSc nursing, bachelor of physiotherapy, bachelor of occupational therapy, and medical laboratory technology programmes.The colleges were earlier affiliated to Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur, for nearly a decade. During that period, several irregularities surfaced, raising concerns about oversight.In a push for transparency, DAVV mandated that applications be submitted through the MPOnline portal. Officials say the move is aimed at ensuring timely examinations, clear documentation and improved accountability, offering students a more reliable academic framework.
