A petition was filed before a local court on Monday against Colors channel for allegedly portraying a scene on prayers offered to lord Ganesh in an objectionable manner in soap opera "Thapki Pyar Ki'.
Anup Shukla, a member of Narayani Sena group, has filed a petition before lower court through his advocate Akash Sharma, seeking actions against the channel, the director of the serial and the Indian Broadcasting Foundation, who have been made respondents in the petition.

It seeks action under section 295A and 298 on the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for hurting religious sentiments. It states the episode aired on Sept 3 showed lord Ganesha's arti being done incompletely and with incorrect phrases and words.
