Bizman gets extortion threat after firing at house, caller claims to be gangster Hari Boxer
Khargone: Police on Wednesday registered a case against alleged gangster Hari Boxer, who is said to be linked with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and deployed forces after a firing incident at the residence of an organic cotton businessman Dilip Rathore in Bheelgaon village under Kasrawad police station area of Khargone district. Rathore and his son were sent videos of the incident and asked to pay Rs 10 crore.Khargone superintendent of police Ravindra Verma told TOI that the case was registered on Wednesday afternoon based on a complaint of Rathore's son, Satyendra Rathore. Confirming that a firing incident was reported at Rathore's residence, the SP said the matter was under investigation. As a precautionary measure, police forces have been stationed at Rathore's house. The SP also revealed that a similar threatening message was reported recently in Ashok Nagar, indicating a possible pattern.Satyendra told police that he and his father received multiple threats from unidentified persons through WhatsApp calls and voice notes. The caller reportedly sent a video showing gunfire and threatened to attack the family with firearms and explosives. The accused demanded Rs 10 crore as ransom, he said.
He said that on March 17, his father received a voice call in which the caller threatened to kill the entire family and claimed that the firing at their residence was carried out on Monday night. The caller also claimed that the incident was recorded and sent the video to both father and son via WhatsApp. Voice notes accompanying the video reportedly included threats of killing the family and blowing up the house with bombs if the ransom was not paid.Satyendra further mentioned that on March 18, both he and his father continued to receive calls from international numbers, which they chose not to answer. He added that the family travelled to Indore on March 16 and upon receiving the video, they checked their CCTV footage. According to him, the footage showed three masked men arriving on a motorcycle and opening fire at their house. He claimed that the video sent by the accused matched their CCTV recordings. A house worker, Shankar, also confirmed the incident, he said.The matter gained further attention after a viral social media post in which Hari Boxer and Aarzoo Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the firing. The post accused Dilip of exploiting farmers and using fake IDs to defraud them. It described the incident as a warning and threatened more serious consequences, including a fatal attack, if demands were not met.When contacted, Dilip told TOI that he was away and could not say much about this matter. He added that his family members are frightened and have urged him to return home as soon as possible.Hari Boxer has also allegedly issued threats to Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, filmmaker Rohit Shetty and Pakistan-based gangster Shahzad Bhatti. Police are now investigating the authenticity of these claims and the identity of those behind the threats.
