Attack on wrestler: No arrests yet

No arrest has been made in connection with Wednesday’s attack on Arjuna awardee wrestler Kripa Shankar Patel on Thursday. However, Sadar Bazar police assistant sub inspector B L Panwar said that the cops have launched a search operation to nab the accused and arrests are likely to be made by Friday.

INDORE : No arrest has been made in connection with Wednesday’s attack on Arjuna awardee wrestler Kripa Shankar Patel on Thursday. However, Sadar Bazar police assistant sub inspector B L Panwar said that the cops have launched a search operation to nab the accused and arrests are likely to be made by Friday.
The 40-year-old wrestler was attacked at Ahilyashram area when he had gone to meet one if his disciples Rishabh at the latter’s house.

The matter was reported at Sadar Bazar police station by the Gangotri Vihar Colony resident wrestler on Wednesday night.
At Rishabh's house, Patel’s another disciple Chotu Goud indulged in verbal duel with Patel for not helping his brother Krishna Goud get a job in the railways at Mumbai. Chotu subsequently left Rishabh's house saying that he will teach Patel a lesson soon.
Around 15 minutes later, Chotu returned to Rishabh's house with his brother Krishna and an aide brandishing a sword and a knife. The trio attacked Patel, who after sustaining injury in arm, managed to lock self in Rishabh’s flat.
A case was lodged against Chotu, Krishna and the unidentified aide under Sections 294, 324, 506 and 34 of IPC.
