Assault & molestation case filed against ex-boyfriend

Indore: A case of molestation and assault was reported from the Aerodrome police station area of Indore, where a 21-year-old woman was allegedly harassed and beaten by her former boyfriend in public.According to Aerodrome police station in-charge Tarun Bhati, the accused misbehaved with the woman on a busy road and also issued threats. Based on the victim's complaint, an FIR was registered against Arjun, son of Jagdish Chauhan, a resident of Chapda village in Dewas district, under sections related to assault and molestation.The woman told police that she works as a domestic help. On Saturday, she went on a two-wheeler to drop her sister at a school. While she was returning and turning her vehicle, the accused arrived from behind and intercepted her. He allegedly abused her verbally and demanded her mobile phone. When she objected, he grabbed her by the neck and slapped her, following which both fell along with their vehicles on the road.The victim stated that the accused pressured her to speak to him and threatened her with consequences if she refused. She further informed police that Arjun was her former friend and they remained in contact for a long period. Disturbed by his behaviour, she stopped communicating with him, which reportedly angered the accused and led to the attack.Police officials from Aerodrome police station said that a case was registered and efforts are on to trace the accused. They added that necessary steps are being taken to ensure the safety and security of the woman.
