Annual general meeting of Madhya Pradesh Textile Mills Association held

The meeting also discussed various issues to be raised in pre–budget memorandum to be submitted to Union finance minister in New Delhi somewhere next month.

INDORE: The Madhya Pradesh Textile Mills Association (MPTMA) is working for the development and expansion of textile industry in the state for last 81 years. The association has 40 textile mills as its members.
These mills have produced 352037 tons of yarn and 1335 lakh metres of fabric in the year 2012-13. The mills exported over Rs 3,50,000 lakh worth of yarn, viscose fibre, fabric and knitted garments during the year.

The AGM of the association was held on September 28, where at S Pal, chief executive, Vardhman Group (three textile mills in the state) was unanimously elected chairman for the next term. Piyush Mutha, managing director, Vippy Spinpro, Dewas was elected as vice-chairman. Akhilesh Rathi of Bhaskar Industries, Mandideep and Pankaj Jajoo of Dhar Textiles, Pithampur, were elected as deputy chairmen.
The meeting also discussed various issues to be raised in pre–budget memorandum to be submitted to Union finance minister in New Delhi somewhere next month.
The textile industry has just started picking up after a slowdown and it has further boosted up the morale of the people in the industry. A Mandideep-based textile firm even has started a manhunt as part of its ongoing expansion plan.
