Indore: Indore bench of MP high court directed Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission to permit petitioner to appear in interview of State Service Examination-2019. Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla directed, “As an interim measure, it is directed that the petitioners shall be permitted to participate in the interview subject to final outcome of the petition and no right shall be granted in favour of the petitioners.” The court passed the direction on a petition of Dr Vikas Sharma filed through his counsel Mayank Sharma. Sharma submitted that the petitioner had cleared the preliminary examination conducted by commission on January 12 in 2020 for recruitment to the various posts of MP State Civil Services. Thereafter, the petitioner had also cleared the main examination conducted between February 21, 2021 to and March 26, 2021, and submitted the counsel. However, the respondents (MPPSC) had prepared a fresh list in the light of the order passed by the division bench of the court and the petitioners have not been found eligible for the main examination, submitted counsel. The counsel placed reliance on two similar petitions. The court following it directed to issue notices to respondents directing them to reply within four weeks. The petition arises of from SSE-2019 recruitment started on November 14, 2019 by publishing advertisements for the posts. The commission organised prelims on January 12 in 2020 for 3.60 lakh candidates. The first results for prelims were declared on December 21 in 2020.The commission conducted the mains examination between March 21 to 26 in 2021. The results were then announced declaring 1918 candidates qualified for the interview. Before the interview, the MP high court declared examination rules as ultra vires in April last year in a petition by a candidate challenging it. So, the commission had to revise the result and it carried out special mains for 2721 additionally qualified candidates. The normalised results from two mains were declared on May 18 declaring 1982 qualified for interview. Because of normalisation over 300 candidates were removed from the list. TNN
