INDORE: Rahul Navlani, who has been arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of actress Vaishali Takkar, was remanded in police custody for four days on Thursday. He is trying to mislead the investigation, said police. "Rahul is changing his statements and not giving exact details of his whereabouts while he was absconding. He has also not given any information about his wife and who went to Kota after which he doesn't know her location," said DCP Amit Tolani.
Police on Thursday said, Rahul Navlani, who has been arrested on charges of abetting actress Vaishali Takkar's suicide, is not cooperating during interrogation ."Rahul is changing his statements and not giving exact details of his whereabouts while he was absconding. He has also not given any information about his wife and has claimed that she left for Kota with children after which he does not know her location," DCP Amit Tolani said. "He has also deleted his conversation with Vaishali from his phone," DCP said.
ACP Moti Ur Rehman said, during interrogation, Navlani claimed that he had gone to Rajasthan via Ujjain and stayed in a hotel while using another phone. Navlani had, however, told another officer that he had stayed in temples and lodges to evade arrest. He was sent to four day police remand on Thursday.
Navlani also claimed that hours before killing herself, Vaishali had sent a message to his wife Disha at around 6 pm threatening to commit suicide. He said that they had alerted Vaishali's mother and had even talked to her but she hanged herself. "I left my house after coming to know about this and when Vaishali's father came to our house, Disha had also left," Navlani told ACP Rehman.
