INDORE: Indore traffic police have re-launched their drive against use of tinted glasses in four-wheelers. And this time they seem to be more serious. Unlike the drive launched previously, this time they are also penalizing the car owners for violating the rule. On the very first day of the drive, the cops took action against over 60 car owners.
DSP Traffic Pradeep Singh Chauhan, said, "WThe drive has been launched to curb use of tinted glasses in cars.
When the drive was launched last time, we had just warned people against the use of tinted glasses. This time we are penalizing them for the offence." tnn
ASP Traffic Anjana Tiwari said, "It was the order of Supreme Court and we had to abide by it."
However, the drive seems to be not going down with the people. Viren Kanadia, a businessman, said, "I use black screens on my car glasses as most of the time I have to leave my laptop bags in my car only. With transparent window screens, there are chances that thives may see the gadgets and my steal them. As such, having a tinted screen becomes a necessity. However, as it is a directive of the apex court we will have to abide by the order.

Woman having four-wheelers put forth their own set of reasons. Mona Punde, a sales manager at a premium car showroom, said, "We often have to leave the office late in the evening and this is the time when miscreants are active. With no tinted glasses, it becomes easier for them to spot women driving alone and this may invite trouble."
