MHOW:
Two nurses of Mhow
civil hospital were suspended on Friday for their alleged negligence, resulting in death of a woman after she delivered a baby boy on July 18. Meena
, wife of Mahesh, was a resident of Bhagora
village of Mhowtehsil
. TOI had reported the matter the next day about Meena's death due to excessive bleeding, delay in referring her to Mhow civil hospital and the absence of any gynecologist in the hospital.
Those suspended are Snehlata Jonathan and Orion Michael. ANM Kusum Khan has been served a show cause notice for the death of Meena. Hospital in charge Dr H R Verma confirmed the action against the two.
Their duties were given to other staff. After suspension of three gynecologists in June this year on Rural Health Mission state director M Geetha's directions, the hospital is facing a crisis.
Sources in hospital are of the view the hospital, where a large number of delivery operations were being performed earlier, has become a referral centre.
