17% of eligible farmers yet to complete e-KYC to get benefits in Indore

INDORE: Around 17% farmers eligible under 'PM Kisan Samman Nidhi' in Indore district are yet to complete e-KYC (electronic know your customer) registration to get the next installment of Rs 2,000 each, expected by last week of this month.
According to the senior administrative officials, the district has a total 89,380 farmers eligible under 'PM Kisan Samman Nidhi' and of them, as many as 73,718 agriculture producers have so far completed e-KYC while remaining 15,662 agriculture producers are yet to link their bank account with the Aadhaar card number. On failing to complete the e-KYC, the farmers can be deprived from receiving the 13th installment under 'PM Kisan Samman Nidhi' scheme despite being eligible for it.
As per the official record, e-KYC is due of maximum 4,061 out of total 26,726 farmers of Depalpur tehsil, followed by 3,753 farmers of urban area, 2,463 farmers of Mhow, 1,336 farmers of Sanwer, 1,189 farmers of Hatod, 923 farmers of Kanadia, 722 farmers of Khudel, 611 farmers of Bicholi Hapsi, 261 farmers of Rau, 249 farmers of Malharganj and 94 out of total 314 farmers of Juni Indore area.
The Aadhaar-based payment system has been adopted under the central government’s direct financial assistance scheme. The Central Government credits Rs 6,000 annually in bank account of the farmers eligible under ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana’ while the same beneficiaries also get fiscal aid of Rs 4,000/annually under MP Government’s ‘Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana’.
"We have instructed Patwaris to approach the eligible farmers, whose e-KYC was yet to be done and help them in completing the process" ADM Abhay Bedekar told TOI, adding that the administration is hopeful to cover 100% eligible farmers in next 10 days.
Meanwhile, Indore district administration has identified around 4,200 farmers, who are ineligible under 'PM Kisan Samman Nidhi' due to their Income Tax payee and other reasons, but were ‘mistakenly’ credited the installments in their bank accounts. The administration has so far made around 19% ‘recovery’ of Rs 67.46 lakh from as many as 896 ineligible farmers while efforts are being made to approach remaining agriculture producers to recover Rs 2.75 Crore as outstanding amount.
