INDORE: As many as 153 government schools across the state to have smart classrooms for students of classes one to eight for the academic session 2022-23 under the ICT and digital initiatives for e-learning. While there are as many as three for Indore district, over 20 are allocated for the schools of Indore division.
Among the districts of Indore, Barwani will have one smart classroom, Alirajpur, Burhanpur and Khandwa districts have been allocated four classrooms each. Dhar district is to get three smart classrooms and as many as two are planned for Jhabua and Khargone districts.
A total of 23 smart classrooms have been allocated for the government schools of Indore division making it up to 15 per cent of the total classrooms allocated for the state, district project coordinator of Indore's School Education Department, Akshay Rathore told TOI.
"This will be extremely beneficial for the students especially after implementation of the New Education Policy as the smart classrooms will be put to use from the ongoing academic session," he added.
A budget of Rs 2.40 lakh has been allocated for each school as per the plan to procure two desktop computers (i3-12 generation), two LED TV 65'' (Smart TV android), and two UPS 600 VA (30 minutes back-up). The department has also stated the technical specifications of the items that are to be procured.
As per the schedule of the school education department, the procurement has to be done by December 31 in order to set up the smart classroom in a set time.
