INDORE: A 15-year-old Indore girl was allegedly gang-raped by two minors - friends of her former boyfriend - who lured her into their trap by promising to help salvage the earlier relationship.
Malharganj police detained both suspects, aged 16 and 17, on Wednesday night.
"There was a rift between the complainant and her former boyfriend and they stopped talking six months ago. Recently, she was approached by one of the accused, who promised to mend her relations with her former boyfriend. She believed him. On Nov 3, the accused messaged her to meet up at Kalka Mata Temple, saying he would arrange a meeting with him," said additional DCP Alok Sharma. TNN
Accused took video of sexual assault When the girl arrived around 10am, she found another youth with the boy who had invited her. "They took her to a room in Kaveri Nagar where they raped her," said Sharma. They allegedly took a video of the sexual assault and threatened to make it viral if she spoke about it to anyone.
Traumatised, she stopped going to school. On Wednesday, she confided in her mother and the parents immediately took her to the local police station, where officers directed them to Malharganj police station.
Malharganj police registered a case of gang rape and detained the accused under BNS sections for kidnapping, raping a girl under 16 years of age, raping a woman incapable of giving consent, and gangrape, and sections of Pocso Act.
