AIZAWL: The ruling
Mizo National Front (
MNF) on Thursday said the party supported the demand of the 10 Kuki-Zo legislators of
Manipur and the tribal community for a separate administration in Manipur.
Addressing a press meet in Aizawl, MNF youth front vice-president Zodinpuia said the party is not only supporting the demand for a separate administration for the Kuki-Zo tribal community inhabiting the hill areas, but will also continue to render help to 'our kindred brothers'.
"The MNF will continue to strive for the safety of our kindred brothers in Manipur and to provide humanitarian assistance to them," Zodinpuia added.
The 10 tribal legislators, who have been served a showcause notice for seeking a separate administration, are expected not to budge from their demand and the MNF will stand behind them, he added. He further said the state has sent 9,552 bags of rice to Churachandpur in Manipur to help the tribals hit by the violence.
