Panel to study subversive activities
IMPHAL: Taking serious note of the recent bomb explosions, attack on security forces and killing of civilians at the border town of Moreh and its nearby areas, the Nongthombam Biren Singh government has constituted a committee to study subversive activities and the groups behind them. On May 8, rebels attacked a truck of Territorial Army in the Lokchao area along National Highway 2, killing two jawans.

This was the first attack resulting in the death of security personnel since the installation of the new BJP-led coalition government in March. The security convoy of BJP MLA L Sushindro, who is also the parliamentary secretary (home), had also come under bomb attacks on May 19, injuring four police commandos.
