His hands were tied and eyes blindfolded.
The bodies are suspected to be of two of the four tribal people who were abducted by a group of unidentified armed men near the Kangchup foothills in Imphal West on Tuesday morning. The Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF), in a statement on Tuesday, had said five tribal civilians travelling towards L Phaijang village in a vehicle were accosted by gunmen. One of them, 65-year-old Manglun Haokip from Bolkot village, was injured in a scuffle and after he fell unconscious, he was left to die on the road while the gunmen abducted the other four.
Haokip was later found by CRPF personnel in a critical condition. He has been airlifted to Guwahati where his condition is still reported to be critical.
